Here are 2 shots of a 3 piece gold and diamond ring made by Donna Armstrong, a McCall Jewelry Artist. The first shot is one of approximately 30 images I took to create the final image. I shot each ring with a 105mm Micro Lens (Nikon f2.8) at different focus points, typically 8 to 12 shots. As you can see in the original shot, the bottom of the ring is way out of foucus.
I then Photoshop the images together to create an impossible depth-of-field image of each piece. Each piece is then “cut out” and enhanced. The 3 images are then brought together and a reflection is created. Add a black background with gold trim and there you have the final image. Sweet!
