2.5 seconds, f10, ISO 320, Nikon D300 with 12-24mm lens at 12mm

With this shot I was on a mission to get more than just fireworks, I wanted to somehow show the crowd watching the show.  In the past I always fussed around trying to find a place where nobody would get in front of me and ruin the shot.  As it turned out, I thought those shots were a bit boring, but they did provide me with some fireworks images for other uses.  Because of the long exposure I did need to use a tripod, and because people move, and you don't know what the fireworks are going to look like, it took a lot of shots to get a few good ones.

I like this shot, and it was used as a major feature shot in the The Star News Paper.
