Here's a couple of mandolins built by Lawrence Smart of McCall. He spends months making these instruments and they are usually ordered well ahead of construction by musicians around the world. I love taking photos of these, but it is the most frightening shoots I do. They seem so delicate and are very expensive. I once tripped on a cord and almost crashed a studio light into one of his pieces. This photo was shot against a crumbled charcoal gray backdrop, and I used Photoshop to change it to more of a dark blue.
